Service Description

Managing people is one of the most rewarding — and most challenging — roles in any organisation. Whether you're a new manager finding your feet or an experienced leader looking to sharpen your skills, this intensive one-day programme gives you the practical tools to get the best out of your team, every day. What You'll Learn By the end of the day, you'll have a clear, confident framework for the four fundamentals that underpin great people management: Setting Direction — Learn how to set crystal-clear SMART objectives so your team always knows what's expected of them, why it matters, and how success will be measured. Discover how to adapt your leadership style to suit each individual using the Situational Leadership model, from directing new team members to delegating confidently to your most experienced people. Monitoring Performance — Move beyond sales figures and deadlines. You'll explore a range of monitoring techniques — including the powerful Management by Walking Around (MBWA) approach — that give you a balanced, accurate picture of how your team is really performing, and help you spot issues before they become problems. Keeping Staff Motivated — Understand what truly drives your people using Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and Herzberg's motivational model, and learn why what motivates one person can actively demotivate another. You'll also use the practical Skill vs Will Matrix to identify exactly where each team member is — and how to respond accordingly. Giving Feedback — Master the BEF formula for delivering constructive feedback that people actually respond to positively. Through interactive role-play, you'll practise giving feedback that's honest, non-judgmental, and genuinely motivating — even in difficult situations.
